FileZipr.com LAUNCHED!!

We (Frenzylabs.com, that I am a member of) have officially launched filezipr.com. Filezipr allows user to make zip files out of 4 files which, after uploaded, are will be available to the public via the URL the user is given. If the user chooses, (s)he can supply a password for the zip file, which is required in order to download the zip file, this keeps people from stumbling upon users’ data “by accident.” The most obvious use for this service is sending big files via e-mail. There is no limit to the size of the files you can upload to Filezipr, unless you have a slow connection of course – then forget it. Head on over to filezipr.com and check it out!

Just like that…

Well it happened, I have been fighting it for a long time, but it finally happened. I gave in to pure curiosity and bought a book on Ruby (the pickaxe book). The more I read it, the more I started to like the language, the structure, the OO model. The what happened next, you can guess, I bought a rails book and begin playing around with it. It didnt take long to come to the conclusion that I love Rails, and I love what Ruby has to offer. So I have decided to conclude my development in PHP and focus on getting some projects out the door, send them out in to the world with a Rails backbone. I have enjoyed creating stuff in php, but have decided to focus on Ruby for a while. Even going to work on porting phpVideo over to rails, also securityCaptcha. If anyone wants to continue development on phpVideo or any of my other classes, feel free.

Also I have joined forces with a friend and created Frenzy Labs for all of our web creations. on our site (www.frenzylabs.com) we will have a blog where we will post articles, tutorials, and  information on our up and coming, to released projects.

We currently just have our blog up and running, and will get to our main page as soon as we get a couple sites done and out the door.

OFXO :: just for fun

Well I decided to try something, just to try. I have launched www.ofxo.com (shortest domain I had 🙂 ) which is basically a search engine that uses params in the search instead of tabs or option (radio) buttons. You can do normal searches like any other search engine or you can do “housing: Columbia, SC” and get real estate listings for that city, state.

So take a look at it and see what you guys think. I’m not trying to compete with the other millions of directories or search engines out there. Just wanted to take on the challenge of building this. If you like it and are interested maybe I will write an article “Building your own Search” So if you would like something like that, let me know. Venture to the realm of Westfall

Its been a while since i have posted anything, so i thought i would. To everyone downloading phpVideo, I hope you are enjoying it. I am sorry however, that I have not released a new version in a while. Noisewater has me busy working on a new MVC Framework for php called “Westfall”, for use with our socialware applications. It has been interesting in planning this machine out.

This starting in the wake of the launch of Vooaroo (which, if you would like an invite, just shoot me an email: wcope(at)noisewater(dot)net and I will slide one to you) so planning a very complex MVC while debugging and working on Vooaroo has not left much time for phpVideo, but alas dont give up on me yet, Im still working with some friends to develop a C program + php extension for video conversion instead of relying on FFMpeg. I will leave the link to phpVideo download on the left column.

Oh, and for anyone that acually downloaded and/or used Ink templating, Im sorry but development (or lack there of) on that project will be discontinued 😦 Westfall will be using a completely rebuilt templating system, so I will no longer have time nor interest in developing Ink any further.

phpVideo Release 0.1 beta

Today I have finished phpVideo version 0.1 beta. there is an example of how to use it in the zip file. Also this project uses the BSD license.

Required for this to use is:
– Flash Video Player
– FFMpeg
– PHP 5

notice: This is a beta release, so there will most likely be bugs. If so please just email me. Also the restriction of what video formats you can convert are based on the restrictions/version of ffmpeg you have.
